Church of the Holy Spirit: prayers of Roxolana, appearance of the Virgin and church services in the museum
The Rogatinsky Church of the Holy Spirit in the Carpathian region is one of the oldest in Ukraine. It was built over 500 years ago from oak planks and without a single nail. Since 2013, the Svyatoduhovskaya Church has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Among foreign tourists, the wooden church was most loved by guests from Turkey, because this temple brings them closer to the great Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska. Continue reading
The Dnieper rapids now rest under the deep waters of the main river of Ukraine. And there was a time when, over 80 kilometers from Yekaterinoslav to Khortitsa, the Dnieper was blocked by stone rocks protruding from the water. Only specially trained pilot-pilots could get around them. The center of this dangerous profession was the village of Pilot Kamenka (now it is the southern suburb of Dnipro). After the construction of the Dnieper Dam in 1932, the rapids were flooded, and the profession became unnecessary. The descendants of the pilots are now very proud of their ancestors. Öresund – the strait that separates Denmark from Sweden. In its narrowest sections, it seems that literally a stone’s throw to a neighboring country on the opposite bank. You are in Denmark, and you see Sweden. Although for the most part on the shores of the strait beyond its horizon it is not possible to reach with a look. Another thing is by train or car. The Öresund bridge, which connects Danish Copenhagen and Swedish Malmo, is the longest road-rail bridge in Europe. When you were traveling along it, I was already in anticipation of an interesting trip, the route of which ran precisely around the Öresund Strait. Then there were four new Scandinavian cities ahead.
“AROUND THE SOUND”
Copenhagen – Malmo – Lund – Helsingborg – Elsinore – and return to Copenhagen. Why was the route chosen such? It should be explained, because for someone it can be a useful life hack. The fact is that in Copenhagen you have a great opportunity to buy an Around the Sound ticket, thanks to which you can circle around the Öresund Strait. Within 48 hours, you can ride all the trains and buses in this direction (travel by public transport in the cities that are on the road is also included in the price). Thus, you can visit several interesting cities in southern Sweden and Danish Helsingor), where the legendary Hamlet of Shakespeare is located. A prerequisite is to make a full circle. It is allowed to cross the strait only two times: one by train across the Öresund bridge, and the second by ferry between Helsingborg and Helsinger. Ticket price – 299 Danish kroner (approximately 1200 hryvnias). For your understanding, a single ticket from Copenhagen to Malmo across the strait costs 130 kroons. Therefore, this is indeed a very profitable investment for travel. Continue reading
